Joy’s Poems

The Final Test

A little girl was sad each day; she sat there all alone. The children all made fun of her; she wanted to go home. They made her cry and hate the day, to speak she was not free. At home they loved her as she was; that’s where she longed to be. Then one day she met the Lord; He told her of His gift. He loved her so He gave His life; it gave her heart a lift. T’was then she realized her worth more than gold. Creator of the universe had chosen her, she was told. You’ll be the one that I will trust with many precious things. And when you come to life’s hard road, you’ll walk beside The King. Jesus whispered to her soul that what YOU think of you,Is what you really do become, I’ve made your life anew. Competing now in high school, she’s run among the best. Remembering what was in her heart has stood the final test. New teaching with authority, steady voice with head held high, Her students awed by wisdom as she looked them in the eye. Lessons learned from childhood and the book above the rest, With the Bible as your roadmap, you will pass the final test. She read a note from parents who responded to her call. “Your a blessing to our children, Signed, your old classmates, one and all.”

The Answers on His Way

I think that in the darkest skies
God’s eye is a searching light
So in the brightest heavens
He has me in his sight.
His ear is ever listening
To hear my deepest plea
When storms of life are raging
His big hand is hiding me.
The heart of God is yearning
To draw me close in love
He waits to hear my voice in song
He’s smiling from above.
God’s Son can warm the coldest soul
He’s left his word to say
Somewhere from all of heaven
The answer’s on His way

The Cry

I heard the cry from out the world,
Oh God deliver me
From death’s dark dungeon was the cry
We’re dying don’t you see.
For some, it was their first time
When calling out to God
And others, tho He knew their name,
They’d spoken not a word.
God’s warriors falling on their knees
In daily faithful prayer
With confidence did seek their God
They knew that He was there.
Oh, friend please don’t delay your cry,
Pray God to save your soul
You need Him more than ever
He wants you in His fold.
The Bible is God’s letter
Jesus died for me and you
No greater love had any man
He hears your cry, it’s true.
